Weird Fuel issue...

Well this is a first for me..I bought a 90 Sj with 5hrs on a fresh engine(tiny tack says 5hrs). I went to Winter Haven fl to pick it up. The guy said he only rode once a year and in fresh water only. I get the ski back to Panama City Fl and go to drop it in the lake for a ride and the dang thing rode hard for 2mins and quit running. Took it back to the house, rebuilt the carb that was full of crap, took it back to the lake and the same thing happened again:chairshot: So I checked my stator, checked for air leaks and couldn't find anything wrong. So finally i'm running my ski on the flush and noticed my fuel filter was being sucked dry everytime I hit the gas. Come to find out my On/res/off switch was blocked with trash. Has that ever happened to anyone?

you really should drain the tank, make sure it is clean, ( take it out, and clean it good!) i would also replace all fuel lines......

and if you ride for extended periods, your might want to reinstall that selector. I know i like mine, but Im on a lake.:wiggle:

Hummm.....I just know how long I can ride on a tank of gas. I usually get about 5-10 minutes of warning before I run out.

I put a new fuel filter on after I cleaned the carbs. Went riding for about 2 hrs and the filter is full of junk...I replaced all the fuel lines and I'm going to clean the tank out tonight.
