I have been thinking alot how we can get the word out there. 4 years ago I knew nothing about this sect of the sport. the only reason I found out was tumbling on pwctoday and then it still took a while to realize it. I know around here I have seen a total of 3 stand ups. in the past 3-4 years that i have been looking. thats sad. that means almost no one knows what it is about. It would be great if we could have a site with just a couple of pages that showed what and who we are. I think there are soooo many out there that think we are the crazy guy next door with the 15 550s in the backyard that still thinks its 1988. thats what alot of people think of when they hear stand up. that really sucks. we need to get more organized. it would be great to have something on one of the top google pages. jetski waverunner stand up ect...

any one want to start brainstorming? I have some web design experience (just a little) and i know some of you do too. I can do some basic photoshop stuff too. lets pool what we have together and make something. it would be great to be able to say go to xxx.com thats what we do.

that sounds like a great idea. i dont have any web experience. when people want to see pics of the sport i send them to fullgaz.com or elprofessor.com but it would be cool to see all of us on a site.

I'm all for it, however...

You don't just put your site at the top of Google results, it has to be relevant and people have to actually click on it and have traffic. A static page typically won't generate much traffic since once someone has seen it, there isn't much reason to go back.

My site (superjett, not this one) does pretty good, but it's driven by javascript which most search engines don't search very well.

One thing I've always wanted to do is put together a list of all the great personal sites out there, mine, jetskier79, romack991, etc etc with descriptions/screenshots. The links database I installed on here is a start, but it hasn't been filled up really.

what if we came up with something good for the x-h2o home page and then made the the forum x-h2o.com/furum ?

Fine with me.

I could always install the portal addon like pwctoday so it can have some of the dynamic content from the forums too. I've put it off for now since I don't think we've needed it and most people don't go to the homepage of pwctoday anyway based on my past experience as admin there.

you might make up a sort of home page with pics and basic info, but just put a link to it up top. (instead of making everybody change their bookmarks..)
