Custom/Hybrid WDK ROK......full carbon, -3 setback nightmare!!!

So the story of this hull..... I am sure many of you have seen this hull on here in the past and it has changed hands a few times here and there. Never been in the water. Originally setup for a 66e setup and not for a 62t. Definately not made for a B Pipe setup!!! Full carbon ROK, stupid lightweight. 42lbs!!! Since has been seriously reinforced for surf while keeping weight to an absolute minimum....Motor setback 3 inches, firewall setback a few inches as well. I took this project on as a challenge to test my build/fab skills and after many many months of tinkering it has all come together to form a beautiful machine! There were many frustrating evenings and lots of headaches but its all good now. I am lucky to have many machines at my disposal in my shop at home. Big thanks to Jeff at WDK ( some may hate but he has been good to me ) big thanks to forum member DARALEKT.....The original guy who ordered this hull from WDK in the beginning. Without your insight on some of the strange measurements that this hull has I would of not been able to get it done. Thanks brotha! Thanks to my dad for getting me the hookup on sweet SS material and access to lazer cut my brackets. Big thanks to my boy Cuong Son for hooking me up with a awesome steering setup! Picture Time. HOLLER!!!

Hurts to have to start cutting holes in a new hull but gotta do what you gotta do right!

B Pipe clearance.....DONE! Ohh and no room for traditional Ebox location....

clearanced the hood lip to clear the intake....

extra carbon so I made a battery box to just fit in this very very tight engine compartment.

So no intake grate is made for a ROK and everyone takes a SJ and chops it in half and welds in two spacers. I did not want to cut my grate in half so I made a nice billit spacer instead. Fits perfect and hooks up awesome!

This is how far the firewall is setback. That is definately the bolts that hold the intake grate spacer in place. And look at that clearance from bolt to bolt in the second photo....that one was a bitch!!

Can u say cramped!!! But it worked out just perfect! Pipe fits, intake fits, OEM SJ tank fits, relocated battery up next to the tank instead of the useless spot originally in the ROK. ATP waterbox, extended the exhaust hose, And the EBOX mounts came out super sick! SS lazer cut and flush mounted with all SS hardware. Came out super clean and really adds strength to the hull, like a nice cross strut! Some said it couldn't be done, here it is. BAM!

Nice, looks familiar. How's it handle, an perform?

Its a great all around boat so far. I havnt had any surf time with it yet but it carves nice, breaks loose when you want, does not ride nose high at all witch is strange but in a good way. And being so light even with my limited 701 this thing rips HARD!! I am very happy with the outcome.

hmmmmm. ebox setup is better than sidewall reinforcement lol.

I like the graphics. Looks like an NYC subway car or wall from the 80's.
