WB1 Ride plate Q's

I know there have been some post's on this but I haven't found what I am looking for.

I am looking for a rideplate for my Blaster 1 I just bought the ski last week and had it in the surf once already. it has a Riva Groovy rideplate on the ski but it seems that is too long it pushes the front of the ski down... and it is real hard to get the ski to slide at all it just hooks, which isn't too bad but looking for something a little looser.

What rideplates are you guys using? and what difference did you feel from your stock plate?

I just bought a stock rideplate and I am waiting for it to comin so I can try it...

and I have also looked into d cutting the ride plate because it seems that the super jet guy love it but I have heard a couple people say it is not needed and doesn't help any.

Just looking for some help setting up my Blaster for the surf it is stock motor, with a intake grate, solas impeller and, riva rideplate.

Yea I figure the stock plate would loosen it up some. and the riva groovy I have is extended so I think it is holding down the front alot, so I think it will be a big difference just going back to stock.

I just wanted to make sure because not many people talk about blaster plates all you hear is super jet... Wait that is a sign that I need one of those also...:cool2:

Well just put a stock rideplate back on my ski yesterday and Wow I like it so much better. It is easy to slide the ski at slow speeds and is easier to jump. I rode in the river Flatwater for a couple hours yesterday and had a blast I never realized how much fun it is to jump crap trap bouy's and it was easy with the stock plate and footstraps.

I can't wait to take it out in the surf... Now we just need some waves...

same here... got a pro tec plate and intake grate...

it will spin out if you try hard enough... its the stock motor thats holding you back... more power will loosen up the back of any ski.

fyi mine is bone stock other than plate, grate, flame arrestor, and its premix.

Yeah that is the thing with the Extended Riva Groovy you had to try real hard to get it to slide and it was alll or nothing... Now I can slide it with little effort or I can lean into it and rail a turn best of both worlds...

And after having it for 3 weeks it is waaay tooo sloooow. it has a impeller I was told it was the lowest impeller skat made for the blaster a 8- something the previous owner said, it has a intake grate unknown,F/A, and now the stock plate. It really lags in tight turns and has snap but deff not :brap:

I plan on getting a B-pipe and a ADA Head, and deff need a new impeller because it only does about 40 mph top speed at about 5/8 throttle anything else and the motor just screams and it really doesn't pick up any speed maybe 2 mph to me it isn't worth it so I just cruz around and wait for the surf to pickup...

For the impellor, I recommend the Concord by Solas, works great on mine.

YD-CD-11/14 Impeller, Solas Concord, 11-14 Degree YAM

If you can find one, the Limited B-Pipe is the best for freestyle, IMO
