Waterproof Tunes

I ran into a lot of people at the Lone Star Freeride that had never heard of these so I decided to post a link for everyone. I have had mine for over a year now and love it. My only advice is if you buy one is just toss the headphones it comes with and by some over the ear ones for about $5. The company has great service, I lost my armband once and they sent me a new one for free

I've always that these would be pretty cool, but I think it would mess with my spatial awareness. I won't wear my ipod on the mountain either, I can't afford to give up any of my senses.

Cool idea though. I think I'll probably just mount a tower on my ski.

Kinda steep!
Oregon Scientific has a 512 MB waterproff MP3 player, with FM tuner and pedometer for $99. It can usually be found discounted a little lower than that on the web. A buddy of mine uses one of their player for wakeboarding and has had no problems with it!
I dont see a loss of hearing as an issue on a ski, as all I can hear is BRAAAAAP anyways!

I wouldn't want anyone in my area wearing one of these things..... earphones block all hearing ability whatsoever. :skull2: Those claiming to only hear your motor anyway that is no excuse for bad judgement..... :dunce: :lame:

bob got me one at the same time- its great for cruising or not getting too crazy- if your really getting after it sometimes its not worth it to mess with- bob never rides without his and has no probs- i really like putting it on for early morning rides to do a little crusin and get pumped up for day ahead- well worth the dough and works like any other mp3 player for use in car etc.
