Water proofing tray

Last year i had some water intrusion problems when I cut up the tray. Pulled the turf and put some carbon kevlar and west systems epoxy. Did a water test and it held up fine.

A day later i checked it and it felt like it needed a sealer. I just tried some of the spray on bed liner for a water proofing layer. I could of used a west system 422 but I just wanted to give this stuff a try. Not sure how well it will adhere, but turf is going over it.

l'll give an update after some use next year. I might put one more layer of epoxy over it.

Im going to try some herculiner in the engine bay, floor. It said it was oil resistant so that might be a better choice then the spray on stuff.

Passed water test! Not surr if this stuff will work or not?

Well, spoke a bit too soon. I tipped back the ski and i did have some water come out. It does emphasize the breached areas though.

Maybe I'll just run some 422 barrier coating on the floor. Oh well worth a try.

you are the reason
Good try. Ive found vinyl ester resin and chopped strand matt will waterfroof great as long as the reinforcement is good and waterproofing is the main aspect if both is needed 1708 or 1808 biax will nail both well. Or a shmooz layer of epoxy with hairs will do a fine job for corners. Looks like u got a straight going right now.

Thanks man! I appreciate the advice and tips.

I figured the truck bed linner coating would work, to keep water from being absorbed , seemed to do the job real well. I can see it for barrier protection on a water tight surface but not for a water proofing.

Thanks again Blair, I'll take some time and look into your advice and re-read it,
Merry Christmas!!

Do you have drain holes? Hook up your air compressor to one of them at 4-5lbs of psi and spray her down with soapy water. I found the only place mine leaked was around the screw holes for the pump shoe. If you find any places around the tray that are leaking you can smear a little silicone or 5200 on it. (DO NOT put too much air into the hull or it can damage it!)

When the tray is full water the weight is ridiculous.
Funny shiznit Blair, That 403 on the edges does give it that appearance. I'll sand her out and even her out. I here ya, i got a bit carried away, slightly!!
