Wamilton's post defoam weight in

We had a 300lb shipping scale at work. I say had because I think it broke this week...anyway... I weighted my Wamilton's ski last year with no battery and no gas tank and it pegged the scale out at 320lbs. I know it weighted a little more.

So this weekend I decided to defoam it. We weighed it on Monday. I put the hull on the scale - it still has the pump, water box, intake, ride plate, long exhaust hose, water box, short exhaust hose, pole, bars, nose piece, bildge pump, battery tray, etc, etc. I put the pieces of tray on the hull too. So basically it's the weight of everything except gas tank, engine, electrical, and battery.

167lbs

Then I put my old Team Scream motor on the scale (in a box) along with a complete electrical system, a battery, a mostly empty gas tank, a b-pipe and chamber, basically everything I didn't have in the hull:

113 lbs

And I got really excited...then I remembered that I forgot my hood :-(

14 lbs

So the total is 294lbs. I added a few lbs of fiberglass and 3m 5200 getting it sealed up and back together too, but I think I should still be like 298 or so.

Oh crap, there is no turf either, but a full roll was under 5 lbs...so 303 or so. Not bad, sure beats the 340 or so I was at last year (~320+ gas tank + 14 lb battery). Not as light as I thought I would/could be but I am still looking forward to trying it out.
