Want to Buy Vilder software, cable, and noise filter?

WTB. Vilder cdi to of cable and software. Yamaha
I have the Yamaha and Kawasaki files on a pc but could use the CD or Floppy
Cable is needed too

Also Vilder released a filter, believe it’s a diode?, to prevent spikes that caused cdi failures

I did a bunch with these back in the day. Contact Ed Brazina @ Full Spec
He was the importer in the us
Ives was way ahead of his time with these! So ahead, that you will need to find an old laptop that runs DOS
In order to run the software!!

I sold off all my old parts years ago.
However, i might have an old cable laying around? Let me look
Could be anywhere?

You can run old software on a new PC using VMware, (Virtual Machine). It comes in very handy when you need to run an older platform.

I have been resistant to it for years but used it a couple weeks ago to connect to a 23 yr old PLC and troubleshoot a bad level sensor. I used a Win10 laptop with a USB to serial adapter, opened a Win 95 environment within a VM and made the connection. Ironically enough, the hardest part was finding a 2 1/4" floppy drive so I could get a copy of the original PLC files with all the program descriptions.

Did that go over everybody's head? :p

If somebody can get me a copy of the software, I'll work out what it needs to run and work out a step by step walk through.

Send me your email and I fire you off the software

didn't vilder have updates on software that were not backward compatible?
i remember some story about different color cdi units requiring specific software iirc.

I have RED cdi that I haven’t tested yet. I was told it’s good. It’s a replacement for a fried one.
Red is rather new. (Last ten years)

One thing that makes me nervous about what you say is in this picture of this bad one forsale the software does have
Same serial number as the cdi. https://www.ebay.com/itm/SuperJet-S...726654?hash=item41f98e4c3e:g:oZkAAOSwJiBcUtsX

If I have a cable could you get it copied?

I might be able if you send a couple pics. Looks like an M8 plug on one end with a DB9 connector on the other. Straight up serial to serial connection.

Just need to know the dia of the plug and what color wire is on which pin of the DB connector.

If I had to guess, pins 2,3 and 5 are all that are in use.

Lots of pics of the cable on the ebay listing. Scan down and they are all posted in the description

Very good pics, but I still need to see inside the connectors to see what pins the wires are attached to.

One could ring it out to determine the pin-out config but it wouldn't tell me if there was a diode, resistor or jumper installed.

A copy of the instruction manual wouldn't hurt either. A search shows they have been posted up a couple times already, once in 2006 and again in 2011 but the links aren't any good anymore.

The instructions may even show a diagram on how to build the cable. Serial connections aren't exactly a secret so they typically send a diagram on how to build them.
Typically only 3 wires are used. Tx, Rx and Ground.

I have created a folder on my sharepoint and rehosted the software for all to download. I will continue to add any other pics, manuals and software versions as I collect it.

I opened an XP Pro VM on my Win10 laptop, copied the Vilder files to the desktop and it opened right up.
I would need an ignition module to take this any further but it's possible.

The real trick will be training guys to use a Virtual Machine. :)
The software I use is VMWare Worksation (free version).

Here is it running on an XP Pro VM which is no different than running an actual XP PC. I tried it on a Win7 build and it wouldn't run so Win XP looks to be the latest version that will still run the software.

Lot's of action going on behind the scenes on this topic!

I now have a copy of the installation instructions and a breakdown of the cables thanks to Restosud!

I have version 3.4 of the Software thanks to Wax.

I have a cable, software and a couple CDI's en-route for testing from a couple different sources.

All information and resources will continue to be added to my Mediafire account in a public folder for anyone to view and download.

I have a network of like minded people that help out when the call goes out!

It’s not going quite as planned but it is going.

I had to bail on the WIN10 PC and VMware for now and at least get it working on an older PC first. You can run the software from Win XP but it never finds a COM port with which to communicate to the CDI with.

The instructions say to use a DOS Boot disk which works exactly as the instructions describe.

It’s never a good day when I have to break out the floppy drive.

However, I am happy to report that I am online with one of the purple ones.

Not having much luck with the Red box or the second purple unit.

The second purple model is telling me it is not comparable with the software version I’m running.

I have some software some place too. I'll try and find it, maybe it may be a fix.

The Purple one's are mine. I forgot I had two. One of them was Ed Brazina's, most likely the one that works.
