i was running a VILDER cdi in my Superjet for a good while before it stopped working.....I started using a MSD enhancer, but its nothing compared to that VILDER!

Anyone know anything about these? Or who could maybe take a look at fixing it? Or is it junk now?

Its symptoms are....no cranking....no sparking....no nothing! It does have a remote tuner type connection plug, but i dont know what it is good for.

ANY help would be nice

When the Vilder CDIs stop sparking, they are usually junk. I have seen them work again once power is disconnected from the unit, then powered up again. ( unhook batt) They will restart and run fine until shut off again. I had one that I wired a switch in line of it's power supply and had to hit switch before starting each time. Also the cable you mentioned is the communication cable for programming. You can connect to your computer and look to see if the box adjustments are in tact. Sometimes they will loose these adjustments for no reason, but they will usually still spark but just run very bad. I just had a brand new Vilder CDI fail after 15 mins.

What color vilder? what is the serial number. I've had probably close to 8 of them over the last 14 years...The best ones were the original purple ones with early serial numbers. Blue ones are notroiusly bad...red ones were supposed to fix the problems....
So what one do you have?

When they go bad 99.9% of the time your toast. CJ is in the netherlands and hardly ever replaces them unless you have one of the suspect blue ones from 2002 time-frame and knowing CJ you WONT get it exchanged nowadays. (it was like pulling teeth back in 03') Other than that put it on the wall as a historic treasure of the jetski world.

Oh - and if you ship yours to him...expect to pay around 40+ fedex only and you wont get it back - he has about 4 of my Sxi purple ones and one blue SJ. The GPR versions also had issues.

I don't know if they sold it, but Jetworks had a new Vilder brain in stock a while back. You might want to check with Robert and see if he still has it.

The red ones are worse then any. I had a good blue one that ran for a year, and was talked into sending it back by CJ. The new red replacement was the one that lasted 15 min. Mtrhead is right, the purple ones seemed to be the best, I have had them run for years. They all did eventually fail though. Stay away from all of them unless you get a working one VERY cheap.

Mine quit on me also after a few hours, it had no spark. I think it had 4.5 hours on it when I bought it. The person who sold it to me said to try a different stator even though my enhancer works fine with it. I am sending my stator to Jetskisolutions to get rebuilt.

Mine is the red box.

There is an easy conversion you can do with the Igni power cdi for the SXR. You would need a 760 flywheel,stator and cover. You could run TL as well, remove magnets from flywheel, and forgo the stator. Novi sells the Igni power ignitions. They are fully programmable like the Vilder, but very reliable. Much better alternative to MSD.

Did it run good until it quit? Mine would spit and cough at low RPM when I had the timing somewhere over the 25 degree mark. It would run good at low when I retarded it. I am hoping the stator was the problem but I really doubt it.
