Kinda funny.

Bought this jetski over the weekend off of Kenny J and he was kind enough to drop it off at the track to me.

We were @ Beaver Run in PA.

Through the ski' in the line up to turn some heads and it matched my buddies bike. :smlove2:

Roo,
Nice pic.
I was just down at sportbike track gear today talking to Mike and picking up some parts for the gsxr.
Maybe I'll see ya at the track.

Steve

Damn brotha, wish I would have known that!

I have been doing all there computer systems since the beginning as a 'side project' of mine. I would have cruised up there if I would have known (right down the street from my house).

Let me know next time you cruise over there.

As far as Beaver Run, two words... Steering Dampner. Crank that bitch up as high as it can go so you can barely turn your front end when in the pits. It is a very bumpy track. First couple sessions out I had wicked tank slap. I don't know how I was not ejected from the bike given I was draggin' knee most of these times :scared::crutches: I finally got some good consistant lines down and problem solved. Actually Mike had raced at that track many times and gave me some great pointers and lines to follow... some of them you would normally think not to take.

Small track but yes, lots of elevation changes, but no more then say Grattan or Mid-Ohio. Overall, I like it but it is definetly not one of my favorites. I will say though, the track offers a TON of grip!

Roo,
Check this out, from my last track day at Calabogie.
It was the first day I ever had the bike leaned over far enough where I was dragging my knee with the bikes fairings touching the inside of my knee.

I have a friend that has been trying to get me to take my 636 to a track day. I just know myself too well and don't want to lay my baby down.
He just lowsided a couple weeks ago and it doesn't look fun.

Steve,
Looking good brotha! You have a wicked aggresive stance on the bike which is awesome... then again, your a foot taller then me! haha Mainly, your head is down. I need to get my head lower. Hopefully we can cross paths at the track and have some fun :bananapowerslide:

I ran that suite last year (looks similar) - MotoGP Titanium?

Here are some pics from my first track day this year (Mid-Ohio).

Do you ever run in the states?

Chad,
Crashing their street bike is a big reason why guys don't go to a track day.
IMO there is very little chance or reason to crash on your first trackday.
Here's a few things to keep in mind if you go
1- #1 it's a track day not a race, everybody needs to go to work on Monday
2- don't follow directly behind someone down the straights especially in beginner. If he hits the brakes early and your still on the gas you'll run right into the back of him.
3-if you get stuck behind someone you can't pass lap after lap just pull into the pits for 30 secs and when you come back out he will be gone.
4-be smooth on the controls.

Go to the track take it easy and have fun. If you like going fast you will love the track and will wish you had gone sooner. It will also improve your riding abilities dramatically. My pic above is from my 9th trackday. Before the track I had never dragged a knee.

Have fun.

I used to ride around sitting very upright. See pic below from the start of this year. Big difference! I had a real hard time finding a tuck position with my size and then it just happened one day.

Yup the suit is a MotoGp Kangaroo.

Never run the states but like I said before I really want to hit Gratton some time this year.

Thanks for the input Steve. I have been riding for about 5 years and know I would love it.
......Good input on suggestion 2. I could see where that would happen pretty easy with beginners out there.

I think the fear of crashing my bike would be enough to keep me from over riding......At least I think it would. I remember my first jet ski race......I thought the fear of crashing my ski would keep me from pushing it. When the rubber band snapped all I cared about was being first.

Dude, totally....you need to come down to Grattan.
Even if I don't ride, freestylegeek and I would come hang out.
I live a half hour south of there if you ever need a place to crash.
Last year I rode down and checked out Gingerman too. That looks fun as well.

Most guys think they are going to go like a bat out of hell when they get to the track. This is not what usually happens. Most riders will not even drag there knee on their first day. It takes very little balls to go 130mph on the street. Now throw in a corner under hard braking at that speed and its a whole different game. I have often lifted the rear tire under hard braking, which gets your full attention quickly. Azzhole pucker time. :mischievous:
