Surfriding UMI steering center post/bolt broke can I drill it out for a new stud ?

Anyone fix these before ? the center post is fine,bolt broke flush... Hurricane swells are headed for Daytona and I need a quick fix !
Looking at the local xmetal turn plate system but they are -2.5, my pole is minus 4.5. suggestions?

looks like the stud can be drilled out w/ a cobalt drill and loctite a new stud in ? anyone ever replace the stud before ?

it's not a stud, it's part of the post. You could drill and tap, but I would not try that freehanded. I think it would be more practical to replace the unit.

thanks for the offer...had it drilled and tapped, put a longer stud in to double lock two nuts...
drill press is the way to go on this job...

my idea but Roland gets the credit for the work ! he did a great job ! Double nut lock now should be better for adjusting without loctite...
