Two singles to dual carbs?

I'm looking at getting some 62t cases to replace my 61x setup. Would it be better to just get a set of used dual 38's or try to get another single 44mm carb and combine it with my current 44? If combining the two carbs is best, how is that done? Motor is lightly ported and runs about 175 psi with a b pipe and total loss.

You would need to match part numbers on the carbs and cut the shaft and some other stuff on the slave carb.

How hard is it to find 44's with the same P/N? I actually think adding another 44 is going to end up being more expensive than finding a used set of 38's since I'll have to get a shaft coupler. If I went bigger, I think the 44's would be better but would 38's or 44's be better for my current motor setup? I figure there's no guarantee I'll even go bigger so I want to go with whichever setup is best.

Is your motor ported now?. If not, you might want to look into Keith Head (Head Enterprises). He has an incredible setup using 61x cases and modifiying your stock single to a 50mm big bore carb. This setup works really well. He competed a few years back with the same setup. (Pro Freestyle)

Don't be silly BK. everyone knows 61x/61x motors don't make any power.

Waternut I would go that route before I swapped cases, built a set of duals and then figured out jetting. That sounds like something to build over the winter instead. Its ride time now.

Slymo use to run one of his motors, You could do a search on PWCToday about it, it compaired it to a RIVA setup he had also.

The cylinder is already ported using the sport port templates. The engine hits really well but I figure whatever my next step is in engine mods will require a 62t case.

I've got a guy who trashed the bottom half of his case and is willing to sell me the top half for fairly cheap. I could just keep the top half on the shelf until I do eventually go bigger but if I can get the intake, reeds, 62t top half, and carbs without spending a fortune, it'd be silly not to replace the 61x case.
