Blaster Turf and Paint

Ok so I figured since I'm not gonna be able to pick up an SJ this summer and I got the WB running right last summer I can put a little bit of money into it. Runs good so why not look better?

2 questions, 1 should be pretty easy and the other just a little harder.

How many sheet of hydroturf do I need? Probably going to remove the plastic coners if that has any impact. I thought from researching most people just used one.

Lets say I wanted to paint under my hood (literally where the steering attaches) what type of paint would work? The previous owners did a bad paint job with all kinds of over spray (there's black purple and white) so I'd like to clean it up. Really was just hoping to use a rattle can as I don't have a paint gun and was only gonna do black.

Thanks in advance guys!

if your just turfing where the stock turf goes and the plastic corners you can use less then half a sheet thats how i did mine and i have a ton left. with the paint rattle can will work but not hold up that well, the good part is if you scratch the paint you can just fix it lol

Cool so one sheet will work. Do you guys put any pad under the turf. It looked like in some old posts very few guys did?

Any special spray paint, not sure what material the hood is? A clear coat or too should help some with durability. It's not a huge concern since it's really just to clean things up.

Thanks guys.

just paint it , ,if you wanna get crazy you can get appliance epoxy paint , but spray paint is spray paint under the hood should be just fine .
underpading on a blaster is a personal thing , If it were me I would just put down turf no padding .

its your boat , do what you want !

Cool thanks guys. Looks like save some money and don't put down pad.

Appliance paint sounds good. Wasn't sure if the type was gonna matter. Looks like all I have to do is buy the stuff and remove my stock turf.
Thanks

Last question do you guys order the 47 x 86 or the 40 x 62 sheets? I don't have my blaster with me other wise I'd just measure it.

In the coming weeks I'll be sure to post some pictures of the finished product.

I used single stage epoxy paint on my girls ski this winter. Dried to the touch pretty quickly completely harded in a couple of days. I've dropped hand tools on it and it doesnt chip. But remember paint is only as good as you prep under it.
