I'm looking for some "Tips" on how too maximize power out of my ski, I've been told "take it too a pro" many times... Only problem is there is NO pros around my buddy and I are the ONLY yamaha riders we know. So I'm wondering what the tricks are like does advancing the timing or some how boosting fuel pressure, I paid a guy 1200 last year that was an SXR "Pro" got it back and I had too start over, it ran just as good when I gave it too him. I'm pretty confident I've got the jetting bang on, so other then that what can I do? I've got pretty much every bolt-on you can get and I'm porting it this weekend.
Thanks

You have to become your own "pro". Unfortunately it is an expensive process involving a lot of time and melted pistons. Its worth learning if you are in the game for many years.

That's it? So advancing the timing or bumping fuel pressure does nothing??
No other little tricks?

Looks like you don't have an MSD Ignition Enhancer? This is a good bolt on. It will advance the timing for you then, retard back to stock settings at higher rpm to protect from detination. as well as give you hotter spark, and a higher rev limit. Check it out.

Also you could get a flow control valve, this woul help with response on the bottom by drying out your water box.

maybe a thrust cone for your pump for better hook up. internal fuel filler for more reliability'gel battery rather than a stock one just stuff like that but for porting your better calling guys like x metal or thrust innovations

Thanks for your input but I forgot too put down the msd, valve, gel battery and WW cone, Mag pump is in the future, Im looking more for tuning tip/tricks for example I know. Buddy who puts jets inside his fuel lines his idea is it bumps fuel pressure, I have no idea if it acutally does anything, I'm hoping for some more input in that direction
I'm using the same porting kit Matt E had.
how does an internal fuel filler help reliability?

1) You say you have a head (aftermarket?) what size domes? what is the squish (between the pistons and domes) ? Maybe be some custom domes.

2) What type of porting was done to the pipe/ manifold..?? . if it was ported have you done the stinger mod to the other end of the chamber??

3) After market 44's what mods have been done to them??
Team scream does a killer baby scream package that would be a custom intake/ reeds and carb combo that was the best bang for you buck for mod type motors like yours. You aready have part of that package..

4) most important i ain't no pro but chuck is (727) 442-7700

-What is the stinger mod?
-I bought my carbs used, they are on a pro-tec manifold the crossover is not plugged and the 44s were modded by pro-tec and that's all I know
-I haven't done any porting too the exaust I bought the Mod set up fro
factory B and ceramic coated the chamber that's it
- I'm running 35cc 185 psi
