tuning my Riva Red Pipe

Location

OK, heres the deal.
I put my spare 61x 701 in my 91 SJ and a Riva Red pipe pushing a Skat 9/17 non swirl prop.
I ran my cooling lines as follows.
1 line from pump to exhaust manifold.
1 line from head to lower water jacket port on pipe.
Out the top pipe port to a T.
Short side of T to pisser.
Other nipple of T to Jetworks flow control valve and on to the stinger.
My pisser is a stainless 3/8 bolt drilled to 3/16, which is around 4mm.
Seems like a pretty typical routing to me.

This ski had a 650 before, and I have never ridden a 701 sj. When I installed the
bigger engine, I went ahead and put on the Riva pipe too. So I am not sure if its getting full power from the pipe or not. I guess my concern is how much water is getting into the chamber and how hot should this particular pipe get.

I also have an MSD water injection unit just sitting here. I dont know if this setup would benefit from it, or how to install it to this pipe.

Any comments appreciated.

Suva has one, it got so hot when he was here on the river it was sizzlin. We took the waterline fitting off the top and tried to clear out any spray hole but ended up drilling a hole through to the main chamber to cool the rest of the pipe. He has been running it ever since with no problems.

I forgot!
we setup a 701 61x with the same pipe and cooling but without the flow valve. it ran really really strong. my buddy said it got really hot the last time out, like smoking hot, then it just started working properly again. i may have had a bit of a clog somewhere that cleared itself out. i did a little research on this pipe before we installed it and it is typical to overheat and fall apart. so far it has overheated once and fell apart once but i think we got that fixed. It makes great power.
