Should I go for tubbie 1's or 2's for flatwater freestyle
and recreational riding?
Is it still possible to do a little freestyle with tubbie 2's?
Does it makes it harder to do a barrel roll or sub with tubbie 2's?
Thanks.

I have Tubbie II on my roundnose. I really really like them in choppy and surf conditions. However on flat glassy water the ski chime walks.

I did a little research and everybody seems to like them.

Why shouldn't I put them on when it has no disadvantages?

I do not know of one single flat water freestyler that uses them...... I hate them on flatwater, when really choppy or in the surf they are nice.

i like them everywhere...if you dont turn agressive enough they dont do a thing but when you really lay that thing on a rail and clamp it they work wonders....i honestly cant ride a sj without them anymore....i just fall over when i try to do an agressive turn....but on my ski i can drag my shoulder all day long...without they the ski feels like it turns on two angles...flat on the bottom or all the way over...w/ tubbies id feels like the rail hooks up at any angle you lay it over on, if that makes any sense.....ihavent tried tubbie IIs yet but there is a set on the rn hull in my gargae so i guess ill know soon enough

Yup they are the best $250 spent IMO. Go for it you won't regret it. How often do we get to ride is water that is smooth as glass, at least never where I live.
