I got to test the Trinity Composites carbon race plate this weekend on my stock 06 sxr. I ran 2 tanks of fuel running bouys and 2 tanks play riding.
My stocker is set up more of a rec boat than a stock class racer. It has handling mods but no rejetting, timing advance, or prop. It does have -1.5 steering and Skat-trak cut intake grate & JSU sponsons.
Around bouys-
The Good- plate tracks super straight, can be leaned in the sweepers and turn more flat for tight turns, the concave design lets the nose lift slighty on the straight ways for more speed.
The bad- this plate is alittle much for a stocker, the lenght push the nose down too much around tight truns in chop and allows it to slide out.
My 1st few laps riding by myself the the plate was railing, as the water chopped up more and more, I was fighting hard to keep the plate from sliding in 1 section of switch backs.
Rec riding-
The Good- plate tracks good in all conditions, has more top end, likes to be leaned into the turns, the concave let the nose lift to jump boat wakes
The Bad- the added lenght will push the nose down in long runs in chop and will sub nose if not back in tray.
I rode across barnaget bay this weekend and really had fun just ripping huge sweeping turn and jumping boat wakes.
Overall the plate is great. I talked to Bobby and told him my thoughts. He agreed the plate might be better a little shorter for a stock class racer.
so, if your looking for a new ride plate call Bobby at Trinity Composites:Banane01:
I plan to test this plate of my limited very soon, I'll give update after the ride
