Trinity ride plate review

I got to test the Trinity Composites carbon race plate this weekend on my stock 06 sxr. I ran 2 tanks of fuel running bouys and 2 tanks play riding.
My stocker is set up more of a rec boat than a stock class racer. It has handling mods but no rejetting, timing advance, or prop. It does have -1.5 steering and Skat-trak cut intake grate & JSU sponsons.
Around bouys-
The Good- plate tracks super straight, can be leaned in the sweepers and turn more flat for tight turns, the concave design lets the nose lift slighty on the straight ways for more speed.
The bad- this plate is alittle much for a stocker, the lenght push the nose down too much around tight truns in chop and allows it to slide out.
My 1st few laps riding by myself the the plate was railing, as the water chopped up more and more, I was fighting hard to keep the plate from sliding in 1 section of switch backs.
Rec riding-
The Good- plate tracks good in all conditions, has more top end, likes to be leaned into the turns, the concave let the nose lift to jump boat wakes
The Bad- the added lenght will push the nose down in long runs in chop and will sub nose if not back in tray.
I rode across barnaget bay this weekend and really had fun just ripping huge sweeping turn and jumping boat wakes.
Overall the plate is great. I talked to Bobby and told him my thoughts. He agreed the plate might be better a little shorter for a stock class racer.
so, if your looking for a new ride plate call Bobby at Trinity Composites:Banane01:
I plan to test this plate of my limited very soon, I'll give update after the ride

I think I saw one in Allatoona.

Harrison was evaluating it at the time.

Never got to ride with it, had some bolt hole alignement issues, but that is a non issue.......... construction looks good, from looking at it and based off other plates I have tried, the length concerned me as well for a stock setup, for Limited or Open I believe it would work fine........

nice review!

Time to try her on a limited setup.

I wonder if the plate would act any different for a rider that is closer too 200lbs? Your probably around 160lb right?...... just thinking more weight in the tray may keep the nose from staying so planted in long runs..... but dont you want the nose planted for racing?..... maybe its time to try a Trinity hood as well?

Thanks for the review. The plate is fine for me @ 200lbs. Scorn and I talked about cutting plate shorter which should help him @ 160lbs I think he told me. It would be no problem to sell at custom lengths. Thanks again.

A lot of people on this site have been asking the question if anyone makes a carbon fiber concave ride plate similar to the jet dynamics short version for the superjet.

Do you have any plans for making a superjet ride plate?

im currently working on a b1 plate with a concave design and that has a d in it, i will be testing it this week, if it yields good results, i will make a sj version too

More then a few companies are making carbon fiber ride plates for the superjet and they all look about the same with prices from varying from 100 dollars all the way up to 300 bucks.

It would be nice to see a cf ride plate that is tapered down at the rear for more stability and concave right under the reduction nozzle area.

If you were to make one similar to the jet dynamics plate and lighter then three pounds, I would be more than pleased to purchase one.

Sounds like a plan. Since were are doing sj molds I want to ride the sj a little more. Always played on kawi skis. So I'm excited to r&d. When the time comes you can take a demo plate. Ride it and beat it to death and give everybody the good and bad.
