I am wondering what kind of trailers everyone uses to tow their standup. I am am looking for and inexpensive trailer to tow my ski to the lake and back. Nothing fancy, just something that serves the purpose. Post pics if you have them please. Thanks!

I have a simple utility trailer, only big enough for a single ski but it has side walls on it so that I can use it to haul wood or camping gear as well.

but was a pain in the butt to get registered.

Use the same tag for every small trailer you own. I have the harbor freight utility, a 4x8 nicer utility, and 2 jet ski trailers, all get used with one tag, and I have been pulled over with all of them at one time or another (lights or something) and never a word was said about the registration. I always just said I didn't have it, they look it up, give me a warning about my lights and I go on my way. Lie, I built it, it weighs 200 lbs, thankyou, goodbye. I didn't learn to lie until I realized how much the state hates honest people. Try to do it the right way and you'll never ever get anything accomplished.

I'm going to look into adding PVC bunks onto my harbor freight hitch rack tomorrow. I'd do it tonight but I have no PVC. ='(

Option A: Weld your own trailer to your specs.

Option B: Buy a used single couch trailer and put 2 stand ups on it.

Option C: Buy a used double stand up trailer for $200. No registration hassle or anything. Plus that box is convenient. We have since put on other bunks, too.

(option C is the best)

Buy any old jet ski trailer and move the bunks. The ones with the squares frames are easiest to work on bunk with (mine is really made for a john boat so it's V-shaped).

The harbor freight trailers are around $200. You can buy used trailers for less. If it has good springs and tires, you're in business. Unless, you have the harbor freight trailer sitting arround, you'd be wasting money on it imho.

My trailer was $160, I just put fresh lights on it ($30), took the nice 570 tires off our old harbor freight trailer (awsome trailer, but ours is beat). Once I upgrade the skids, I'll be at about $230 for a pretty nice jet ski traler that's actually made to go into the water.

Thanks for the help. I think I found an older jet ski trailer. I have heard a lot about the harbor freight trailers but buying used seems like less of a hassle. Thanks again!
