Thrust trim setup

I just put a new cable on my thrust trim and for some reason I can pull the trim but when I release the lever it doesn’t go back to its regular position. Any help would be appreciated

The trim comes with a spring that pulls the nozzle back down. If you dont have the spring it wont matter as the thrust from the jet will bring it back down.
