After riding my X2 and getting use to the wide stable stance, I almost hate the narrow tray of any standup. So which footholds give the widest stance in the tray? I am looking for a newer SJ, but will have to put footholds in right away after I get it. I would like to have my toes almost toutching the outer hull.

I cut and ground the foothold itself down untill they sat all the way into the ski. The outside of the foot hold is the out side of the ski. If you went any wider your foot would be outside the ski. But I only moved the foothold 1/4 of an inch out maybe at the most. The middle of the foothold at the ankle is is cut all the way out to the painted part of the ski.

Look at this picture it will show how far they are spaced out. This is compared to a 24-7 generation one foothold

puddle puppy 'makes' lots of things.

why even suggest him if the things he makes takes months and months and months to get?

it just doesnt make sense to me. :dunno:

I doubt it. I think waht happened was he kept getting orders for foot holds so he probably just took a day and made a batch of them. Material and time wise it does not take much when you have the molds. Hulls are a different story.......as we all know.

hulls dont take more than 2-3 days to layup. i dont know where you get your info from.

The hulls are made to order to your riding style and specs. Plus it is just Jeff and 1 other guy doing all the work. Hulls are just about 1/10 of what Jeff does in his shop. Hulls can take up to and over a week to lay up depending on what your layup schedule is and what material you are using.

not only the laying up process but the assembly process can take months, including a hood, to complete.

the quantity of footholds one can make in a day is limited to the amount of molds one has.

You can't get deeper footholds than the Waterdawg footholds since they just about touch the outside of the gunwales (like someone else mentioned).

Waterdawg seems to do okay with shipping footholds, but if you order them tell him you NEED them within a week or you're going to buy someone else's instead. Then you'll probably be okay.

I'm guessing he can lay up about 15-20 sets of footholds in a day if he really tried.
