Anyone ever had a TDR waterbox go bad on them? A broken baffle or some other failure. I've had this waterbox for 4 years and it was used when I got it. So, there's no telling it's age, but it has always worked fine in 3 different skis. The waterbox doesn't rattle when it's pulled and I always thought TDR's were pretty free flowing boxes...very little restriction. Almost like a straight pipe with a resevoir. With the same box on my old Dasa 760BB it was easily the loudest ski on the lake and even at Daytona with other skis running my boys said it was easy to know where I was riding. Now I'm running a newer, bigger Dasa PV engine and the box is actually quieter??? The exhaust note is much deeper but much more quiet. The engine feels like it's being restricted a bit. I've dried out my pipe with only the bottom open about 5/8 - 3/4 turn. I'm running a flow control valve (non adjustable)...prolly 2-3 years old. I haven't pulled it to inspect it but was wondering if it could be waterbox baffle causing a restriction somehow versus a too wet waterbox due to flow control valve? I've added a mag pump this year and pushing a bigger prop. Could the stronger engine/pump combo be forcing more water through the cooling circuit and be overloading the FCV, thereby making the waterbox too wet?
