first of let me state why I baught this engine. I was fixing my ski at wavedaze fall 2013 and erik came up to me talking engines. more reliable, more power. shoot he talked me right into it. deposit and a crank core sent in October. Daytona I was supposed to have it instead I tried one in dan Swartz ski. wow nice power can not wait. Wait I did April wavedaze came no engine. I was really bummed as I had big plans with my hull then. I really saw some people turn their back on me at that event. My engine was on display but unable to take home with me cause of certain parts where farmed out on it to someone else. Ironically my buddy won the tpe top end in the raffle, he thaught it was funny that he was to get the engine before me. come to find out it was not at the event to hand to him. Frustrating to say the least. Erik did show his apologies to me assured me it wouldn't be much longer. To say the least the engines are known to take a long time to get. Well I finally got my engine. Looked amazing!!!! as I was the first one to run the billet head anodized black and painted short block. Looked nynja style I was told. Sharp. So it sat for a couple weeks till I had time to put it in its new home. vroom. Started great. checked compression 180 even. "Nice lets get her wet". a friend that helped me that day said. so we did and commenced to break it in after a blip out and back I check plugs to make sure im rich enough. I break in with thick oil and richened up. I checked plugs after a little bit again as it was cooling down. grey rear plug. I immediately told erik about it as I was concerned. After a tank of gas I checked compression. still 180 comp. hmm still good. one tank of gas through it and time to ride right. well I did have a little fun. Actually I was really impressed so I changed pump to a freestyle setup. oh ya that engine is a backflip engine I was thinking and then plug read again grey plug still. engine started to be a little for fluky. Had some surf the next day ran it for just a little bit and braught it in. just wasn't hitting well. inconsitatant. checked compression. 170 rear 180 front. I was done. almost three tanks of gas. Engine sent back to erik. Now I starting to get to know erik cause we talk more often these days. He is very knowlangable and a very nice chap. His concern was great on this engine. He said boy do you have some bad luck. Well engine went back to him. Good thing I save the box. He is a great box packer too. lol So he says what do you want to do? I said well I want what you told me I was gonna have but if you cant give me that than money will work. He said I get you your engine back and you will be happy. Then is a lot of stuff inbetween but bottom line is he believes in his product and is willing to make the customer happy. He has no intensions of stiffing anybody although the timeframes stated are extraordinarily long. I have a tracking number for my replacement engine and am looking forward to running his engine and changing my view of tpe. review of a good running engine to come shortly. All in all if i had no problems i never would have been able to how great of customer support he has. Thanks Erik for building affordable, reliable people pleasing engines. Keep on keeping on.
