SXR Coil Question

Anyone know if a coil from an older 750SX/SXI will work in an SXR? I messed up the wire trying to pull off the white plastic threads that broke off the top of the box. Reason I'm asking is because I have acess to one of these older coils.

I just used MSD's 750 coil in my ski and it worked fine.

you can just replace the wires also...

Thanks for the replys. Brent you going to Corsons this coming weekend? We were out there monday (yesterday) and it was awesome, it was glassy with 3-4 footers and nice sets of 5-6 footers were rolling in as well.
