SX/SXi/SXi Pro SXI Engine and Igntion Box question.

These might be silly questions but I'm new to this so hear it goes. 1. How does the PTO coupler come off the engine? 2. Do the vent tubes on the ignition box do anything? One goes to the stock pipe and the other goes out a vent on the left side of the hull. When I get a new pipe will I still use this vent system?

your PTO coupler screws off the crank shaft. standard threads, counter clock wise to loosen.

HEAT helps big time. get it hot with a torch, then loosen. we have a coupler tool here, if you want. this way you will not break it;

the "vent tube" you are refering to, is actually a water out line. this goes from your pipe, to an over heat sensor mounted in your electrical box, then out the side of the ski, for a water tell tale. you can eliminate this, when you go to an aftermarket pipe, just by pass it.

hope this helps.

I dont use the water temp sensor, Just dont run the water lines to it. you can leave the electrical plug plugged into the e box.
I removed my coupler using heat and a long 2x4, Just be careful not to tweak it if you plan on reusing it.
