Well I fought the jets ski and the jet ski won ,at least round one anyways.I mistakenly thought that I was going to put this thing in the water today.Everything is done with the exception of the throttle,cable and bracket.Oh yeah I found out I have a leaking fuel tank also.Tomorrow is another day and round two begins with a vengence.

Round two: I win but not by much,I did ride it but there is lots and lots of tuning to be done before it rips again.I believe I am running too high a pitch on the impeller and the jetting is wayyyyyyyyyyyyy off.I also took a look at the head gasket that I was running as it has been on there for years and years.I had a .040 head gasket on there so instead of milling the head I am gooing with a .010 gasket and that should get the compression where I want it.

I so much prefer working on my SJ compared to my old 550's and 750's .

There is no way a Superjet is easier to work on than this,in the 550 hull yes I agree but in this 300 sx hull it ain't nutin but a cake walk.I designed this to be as easy to work on as possible even though this engine has not been apart in 10 years or more.So instead of getting a superjet I think I will stick with something I don't have to work on.

550 reed motor at the moment but I may transplant a 750 in there.By the way thanks to this site I have found a few ppl to ride with so it will be used a lot more this year.

Anybody can ride a SJ. You gotta have mad skills and patience to ride a 300SX.

Lean to far in a turn on a SJ, and jut pull the throttle to power out of it. Lean to far on a stock 300SX and you'll be swimming.

It depends on how much power you have in it I guess,I still have to dial it all in,I pulled the top end down to take a look,I apparantly only have one piston for it in stock so I am waiting on a piston,gaskets and jets now.
 
Wow - I'm confused. I thought you were the king of kings when it came to anything PWC related mr doo. Seriously, I'm surprised you are having issues getting a basic 550 reed motor to run. I'm sure it is something very basic and fundamental that was somehow overlooked. Did you do a leak down test? I have a little experience with these things so let me know if you need any help. You can PM me if you want.

Wow - I'm confused. I thought you were the king of kings when it came to anything PWC related mr doo. Seriously, I'm surprised you are having issues getting a basic 550 reed motor to run. I'm sure it is something very basic and fundamental that was somehow overlooked. Did you do a leak down test? I have a little experience with these things so let me know if you need any help. You can PM me if you want.

Unlike you Mrski I haven't spent a year trying to get this to run,hell I haven't spent a day trying to get this to run,I pulled it apart to freshen up the top end after about ten years of trouble free jet skiing with it.I also decided to do some major port clean up while I was in there and am waiting for a piston and jets to come in for it.I can damn well guarantee you that when the parts do get here and the rings are seated in that I will have it running perfectly the same day.Feel free to report back when you have yours running correctly,that is if that ever happens.

OK goofball..Just trying top help you. Apparently you have some sort of war wounds not yet healed.

If you are trying to parallel a PJS 550 T-3 ported motor to a 550 kawasaki reed cylinder...these are 2 different animals.

I have asked for help on the PJS motor, yes. On the Kawi motor, I had already "mastered" that motor's performance. This is where I thought I could help you.

I'm sorry if I made you into feeling embarrased of yourself over there. Honestly, you left me no choice. I really do not care about the past indifferences.

If you need some help just PM me your number and I'm sure I can hand you some useful information.
