Swopping pumps: Alignment question.

I am swoping out my stock 144 pump and putting in a new 148 H2O setback.....thing is I really really dont want to take the motor and midshaft housing out and use my cold fusion alignment tool just get the new pump aligned even though I suppose its the " right way to do it"....anyone have a easier way to align this new pump without taking motor, etc out....tks

Depending on which hull you might be able to pull your pipe chamber, slide the engine forward with everything connected, pull the midshaft and align with cold fusion tool

Trust me anytime you swap entire pump set ups, you should check alignment. If you have issues, you will know what they are. if not you could bend that expensive shaft. Seen it done a lot. its an extra 4 hrs if you slide the motor forward as discussed.

Best way is to flip the hull upside down with handle pole removed, motor and mid out. Could do it with the ski on it's side in a pinch but I'd recommend doing it right. It's a pain to get the bolts started with trim cable tube in the way and with the added weight of the mag pump. Do it the right way. Also btw an electric 1/4" ratchet makes the alignment process a lot easier.
