im really surprised events like this with top racers and freeriders in surf at nice beaches didnt really catch on.thats about as exciting as a race could be on a ski,and then freeride shows and comps to boot?????????????????????????

You are 100% right. Problem is that most of the country live inland. Kind of hard for guys that live in landlocked states to compete without practicing in the surf. Also it is hard to get spectators close to the action with the tide. So it is difficult to have a huge crowd that can actually see the comp.

No doubt,turns a otherwise boring race in to something exciting.Surfers have decent luck getting a crowd on the beach to enjoy their comps,dont see how this is that much diff.Who cares about the landlockers if they were stupid enough to move there,they wouldnt be smart enough to be at a surf event anyhow,there are plenty of people on the coast
