Superjet water box question/custom aplication

So I have a round nose water box (alum), and was wondering if:

1. can the box be mounted on any horizonal angle? ie: could the box be rotated and mounted upsidedown?
2. Can the box be run with the exhaust flowing backward.

I want to run the box backward an upside down, but I'm not sure what the baffling <sp> looks like. Is this possible?


Its going in a B1, once I have the info and install, I'll take pics, it's hard to explain.

i dont see why it wouldnt 'work', although its being used differently than intended. you may have a problem with too much water staying in the waterbox. i dont think baffles would be a problem.

The water box uses water to help muffle the sound waves.

If you mount it upside-down, it won't hold the water and won't do an effective job for what it was designed. You might have to circumvent it altogether which I don't think is too much of a big deal, just louder.

I wouldn't think that would be such a big deal, though.

Is backpressure an issue with the waterbox?

By circumvent, I mean eliminate the waterbox from the exhaust system.

Yes, that's a stock 1996 SuperJet waterbox.

Have you considered making your own waterbox out of pvc? :wall:

It would be way to loud w/o it. I bought one of those intine silencers, and was going to use that but it would still be to loud.
Here is a pic of how I want to run the box. on it's back, with the exhaust flowing backward. Aside from running backward it will hold water like this.
