When i first got this ski it started acting up,not starting when warm. I replaced it with an older style Kawasaki stop/start switch and everything has been perfect up till now.
Now i have to hold down the stop button to make it turn off. If the lanyard gets pulled it shuts off just fine though. Just yesturday, i didn't have this problem.(it's not really a problem)
Do you guys think it's just corrosion in the new switch or a problem inside the box? The switch ,though it was old, was almost new and never used.

sounds like a faulty CDI.

when you push the button quickly, does the ski start dieing, then "regain consciousness" when you let off?

It has msd ignition. What do you think? Bad ground?

Yes,when you push the button quickly sometimes it shuts right off and sometimes it wont and you have to hold it or pull lanyard. One time it would sit there trying to start and as soon as i let off the button, it started.

I've been jetting this ski every time i go out and i don't have time for electrical problems now. I'm just getting to the point where the ski is managable in the water and now this.

it kills instantly with the lanyard because pulling the lanyard is the equivilant of holding the stop button down.

it sounds like 2 different issues.

both sound like the msd enh.

Well, Im guessing he means that the stop switch takes a couple seconds to kill the engine, but I was under the impression that it cuts instantly with the lanyard pull (like what he wants the stop switch to do).

It not 2 diffrent things. It's one of those switches where the lanyard and stop button do the same thing.

Either way sometimes you got to hold it down and sometimes it works right away.
I'm narrowing down the fuel delivery problem and this happens at the worst time. So you think it's the ignition box crapping out???

you said
One time it would sit there trying to start and as soon as i let off the button, it started.
thats a seperate issue than how the stop button is/isnt working, but im thinking theyre both the msd enh crapping out.

the above quote is a classic sign.

I'm going to get some sandpaper and check all grounds and conectors in the electrical box. I already had to do that as soon as i bought the thing, there was water in the electrical box.

Fuel delivery tuning not important right now. I gotta make sure it's going to start on me in the deep.
Thanks.
