Superjet Starter woes and questions

Well.... I removed my non-working starter from my SJ tonight and cleaned it out real good hoping it would solve my non working starter problems. I hooked everything back up and :Banane01: it started to turn over.... well long story short it only did it once and then died again. So I am in need of a rebuild of my starter, a new/used one, or other replacement. I have a few questions.

1. When starters go bad what usually needs rebuilt on it. Everything looked ok inside it when I took it apart, no corrosion, just dirty. I couldnt get the assembly out of the bottom though that had the coils and stuff. Is rebuilding a good idea? I have a place nearby that quoted me $80-125 unless it is totalled (they have to look at it though). Is this a good deal?

2. Anyone got a used one they can sell me cheap?

3. I thought I remembered reading on the other site a little while ago that seadoo starters can be used on yamaha and are better. I may be mistaken though. Is this true? If so, is it a direct swap? If it is true and a direct swap.... anyone got one to sell cheap?

4. How much is a brand new starter?

I really want to get this running by next monday at the latest. I think at this point rebuilding may be my best bet but I would like some input. Thanks!

Aftermarket ebay ones will get you $100 bucks worth and since an OEM is $350 then you know how long it will last .I just got an OEM from Ebay in mint condition for $50 .
If you look hard enough you'll get an OEM for less than an aftermarket cheepy
On another note are you sure it'snot the bendix gear as I think they fail a lot more than the starters do .

Here's the one I just bought

Everything points to the starter so I am pretty sure it is that. If not then I have a spare bendix anyways. Im gonna keep my eye out for an oem one.... maybe I can stock up this winter lol. Why do you have to go and make me jealous showing me your mint oem one that you paid $50 for lol??? I just want to get on the water as fast as possible and for the rest of the summer with no problems. I have missed about 2 months of my summer due to my ski being down for stupid stuff (start switch and now this). My friends are moving back to school next tuesday and will will be heading out to lake michigan everyday possible. I dont want to miss out on that (especially since I have missed every other chance to go to lake michigan).
