Anyone ever have their ski run fine for like 3-5 minutes and then just run away? Ive only ridden it once since getting the carbs dialed in, it hit hard and plugs looked fine, then got it home flushed it and after about a minute it ran away, but didnt seem to shoot to the moon before shutting it down. Ive been playing with the low speed screws and idle some for the past 2 days, now it runs for like 3-5 minutes then just takes off. In the past ive usually had them run away alot quicker than that if there was a air leak or the jetting was way off. I havent done a leak down test yet, I guess that will be my next move. Any suggestions?

Carb sync was the first thing I checked, they were off just ever so slightly, they look good now. I thought I had found it, the pulse line on the rear carb was looser than it should be, but didn't change anything. I will re check lines next I suppose, they are all new and quality 3/16 so they are pretty tight.

Mine does the same thing. But only when its on the hose. If the water gets turned up too high it will take off after a rev. If i keep the water very low then its fine. Interested to hear what people think.

I chased a similar problem for weeks last year. It ended up being small, imperceptible cracks in the aging plastic (aftermarket) fuel filters.
You might also check the fuel pickup tubes inside the tank. Basically, check any point in the fuel system for potential air leaks

Why the fark are you people running your skis on a hose long enough for any of this to happen?

It was only running for a minute tops the first time, now I'm letting it run alot longer to make sure I have cured it, which I haven't. I gotta get this thing fixed before the orange beach ride, or else I'm just gonna run her til she blows.
