Superjet project

So I'm thinking of building a beginner trick ski and I'm not sure what route to take for the engine. Do I mod a 701, bore it out and put bigger carbs? Or do I get a 760 X64 and drop one of those in with a stock 144mm pump? What do you guys think? Are the 760's good for bottom end torque like the 701?

Not a reliable source from experience, but when trying to figure out if my engine was a 701 ported to a 760 or just a 760 I discussed with multiple people that the 760s aren't as decent with bottom end as a 701 with pipe, bore etc. mine is a 701 ported to 760, b pipe, 46s, etc and has PERFECT bottom end power. Very responsive and top end isn't shy at all either

Couldn't disagree more. 760s can produce great "bottom end" if you set it up for that. Its all in the surrounding parts and porting. Properly set up youd be happy with either a 701 or a 760. The term "bottom end" is so over rated and i laugh every time i see it used. You want arm ripping power from bottom to top. A significant pull throughout the entire RPM range is sooooo much better than a little bottom end snap...

Exactly why I'm not a reliable source lol. Here's better info from someone that has been around^^

I'm looking for back flip/ trick bottom end power. I don't that changing the prop has a lot to do with this too. Dumb question but if I build a x64, will it have the same snap response that a 701 does? I've never rode a ski with a 760 in it. I like the fact that you have 90hp in a 760 instead of the 70hp in a 701. But I'm going for snap, not too end and they don't really give torque rating

It all comes down to your budget, setup, and tuning.. the short answer is, yes. A 64x can have just as much snap as a 61x 701 or a 62t, just have it ported. I can't say it enough, It's all about fine tuning. Bigger isn't always better.
ask @N3vrSat1sfied about his little 760.

To anyone that says "760s have less bottom end" than this or that I show them this.

PORTED 760cc 62t with a b pipe, MSD enhancer, OEM pump, OEM 38s, etc.

Hey guys, went to go and see a motor in pieces. 2 cranks ( 1 needs a bearing) 61x bottom, top end and head, intake, exhaust and pistons that need to be replaced, flywheel, stator cylinder needs to be bored and has a 735 bore. $400. What do you guys think?
