Superjet not charging.

1996 Superjet not charging.

760 cases (and therefore slightly different stator?)
MSD Enchancer

Measured and confirmed good readings:

Green to green resistance
AC output.

I have tried three different voltage regulators. I am not seeing much above 12.7v on the DC output, even while revving. I am sure that at least one of the 6m6 regulators are good. I am beginning to suspect the battery, but it is only a year old. Battery takes a charge fine.

Any idea what it could be? Thank you

Last one I checked, 62t based electrics, I just installed an Msd enhancer and wanted to verify the charging system was working before I closed up the e-box. This ski had no prior charging system issue. I did a quick test on the work stand, no water to cooling system so could only run for a few seconds. 12.7V was the max voltage I saw at rev, so I thought something was wrong. The ski was deep in a garage and could not be run on the water hose, so I could not see what the voltage would do if the ski was ran Longer over time. So measured battery voltage with engine off, it was around 12.5v and running was 12.7v so I surmised it is charging, i just can’t see all the charging system activity, testing it the way I am. I was
Correct, it’s charging, this was 4 plus years ago and still going stong.

Maybe post your skis symptoms and why your looking at it so other can help ?

I got the ski in October of 2023 (non running, po had installed an MSD enchancer incorrectly and had the holeshot wire grounded). Fixed the issue, took it out a few times, one time the ski wouldn't restart. Towed it back in, check the voltage battery is dead. Charge the battery, get a cheap regulator from amazon, stick it in.

May 2024, get the ski out, fresh charged battery. Ride one day and it seems fine. Ride a few days later for an hour and it dies and won't restart.

Verify my AC output is around 20v at idle, green to green resistance is around 1.3ohms. Used OEM 6m6 regulator. Not much above 12.7v at idle or revving.

Confusing since my stator appears to check okay, I think the regulator is good, and my battery is only a year old. Yet still the ski doesn't charge.
