super freak hull pump fitment with jet dynamics pump shoe

I have swaped in a few mag pumps last week and have since grinded the crap outa this pump shoe for better centered fitment,These were the pics from taking the original solas mag out, this these hulls apparently have a pretty decent angle on the pump to be aligned in the hull.

Why would the shoe have to be this thin at the top though? its making the pump off center badly and still contacting the hull on top even with a grinded down wear ring on top. how far are most grinded down on the bottom half to center up? the 144 and 148 mag hardly center up,the 155 id like to try will take some serious grinding

The Badasses arent meant to work with 155mm pumps unless seriously modded. I had to grind the hell out of an OEM pump shoe to get it to get anywhere near low enough just for a 144. Its just how the Badass is setup seemingly. Its a bugger to fit but allows the tray (an pump box area) to sit really low making for a low center of gravity ride is I think why they are that way.

I think Tem has said somewhere that even when they are fitted, 155mm pumps are restricted by the pump tunnel because they weren't designed for that kind of water pass through. The Circus though is exclusively for a 155 pump I believe on the otherhand.

thanks man..good to know..I talked with lucas about the 155 pump,he said badass wasnt made for 155 but they got it to work grinding down the top of the wear ring and pump housing. Im not sure it will be easy with this hull though, the top of the pump shoe is grinded down thinner than even the width of the pump seal,I grinded out a ton on bottom of pump shoe and it helped it center up.
Also noticed that with the shoe up this high and the way the worx grate fits deep up in it,the scoop angle throws water steeper at top that makes the rear of ski ride very high in the water.the jet is completely visible 3 ft in back of ski on plain..how far are you guys shimming down the grate?

The 155 was not recommended in the BA, with the tiny intake area it kept the hull "too glued" to water. Just a FYI.
Bigger is not always better. I had BA with a 148 mag with a PHP 898 ( alll the other goodies as well) and it was a fun ski

im really more interested in gettting the 144 148 pumps that are basically the same outer diameter centered up better in this hull,Id of liked to fig out what 155 prop works best with a motor im testing in this hull, but i can always throw the 155 in the superjet and see how the motor/prop pitch works out in a hull with more weight.

how many of you guys have to set your shoe this high to get pump alignment right? just grind the pump seal down flat also?
