SXR Supejet pole on sxr!!!! Pictures anyone?

I have heard it is possible, I know its possible actually to but a superjet pole on the sxr ski and have seen a couple pictures but they weren't that good. Does anybody have pictures of their ski's with the SJ pole on an sxr? Seems like a killer idea!

Thanks if you post some pics!

There are some decent pics in this thread:

I have a UMI on mine now, but I have a fixed X-metal pole on the way to replace it (just for looks).

Pretty much any SJ pole will work, bushings need to be modified (SXR is like 1/4" narrower). Plus you need a Kawi specific turn plate since Yamaha's steering attach to the plate on the right, Kawi on the left.

Can't really flip them, the clamp bolts are counter sunk. You also need a steering system, like a UMI bearing setup. The SJ plates are made with the correct machined surfaces to fit the orings on these sytems, so you can't just flip a SJ plate. The stock SJ plate won't work cause it's a bushing system. One could get really creative and make a bracket for a stock SJ system on the cheap so the pivot ball mounts to the other side.

The stock SXR turn plate has is mounted on the bottom, so if you mount it on the top, you are basically flipping it, putting the steering on the right again.

Blowsion's Kommand turn plate is made so that you can move the little arm from one side to the other for this very reason.

Cold Fusion has a really nice fat bar setup for the SJ, but he didn't make it so it has steering pivot setup on both sides (which is probably a $10 production change), or else I'd probably be getting one of those. They are setup to use stock SJ bushing mounting systems. (you listening Carl?)

i put the X Metal pole on my sxr and im really happy with it. Im pretty sure there are pics of it on my build thread but that was some time ago. I put the Xmetal turn plate on with the pole. I used the SXR bolt and put the SXR washers inside the bracket to take up the slack, it fit really well

so just to clarify, i need the following to do the conversion:

-SJ pole
-blowsion turnplate
-some bars, etc.

the rest should bolt right up with parts from my sxr?

Stock bars will fit, but it's a good time to upgrade to straight bars, or 0* bars, or risers, etc.

If you get the complete Blowsion steering kit, it will have the bearing system in it I was talking about. If you buy just the plate, you will need a steering system, or modify stock steering plate/bushing system like I said with a bracket to run on the left. This is the cheapest solution.

You will also need to come up with a way to mount the steering cable on the left. Sometimes the manufacturer of the pole will help you out. X-Metal sent me the correct bushings and adapter to make the Kawi cable mount to the left of their pole. Blowsion sells UMI and AC pole bushings mounting in SXR.
