strokers,bigbores,octane and oil ratios

what oil ratio do most of you that run power motors run. I do fine with 50/1 in my ported 701 but have been runnin 40/1 in the stroker.I hear that 30/1 can make more power but I dont see how that is possible more lube or not?

as far as octane goes I keep hearing guys say their motor makes more power on race fuel than pump but does ok on pump,I dont get this either on a motor with fixed timing. I can see it on a obd2 system motor with knock sensoring pulling timing. but how does a motor thats setup with timing and comp to at least accept pump fuel that is hotter burning run better with no changes other than race fuel? I can see maybe oxygenated race fuel, but av gas or 100 or even 110 leaded?
I always thought the octane was a safty factor that allowed for more timing, comp, porting to make more power, but i dont get the reverse factor here?

Race gas does not make more power, it just allows it if you take advantage of the higher octane, or like you mentioned oxygenated fuels will provide a little more power.

We pre-mix at 40:1 for everything. bigbore strokers, and stock 650's

i know builders dont wont their motors coming back seized, but it seems like 32/1 is alot of oil.especailly with a good oil like amsoil or the like

At what ratio does the extra oil make the fuel burn slower, thusly decrease overall performance? How is it amsoil at 50/1 works fine and no wear is found within motor parts at this ratio.
It is hard to feel the diff between running the same oil at 32,40 or 50 to 1 as far as power, but riding a smoke bomb is not hard to tell at all.

True, it may be a little harder to get carbs dialed in on MS109, BUT, once u are dialed in, elevation and weather have much LESS effect of carbs due to the fact that u are providing your own oxygen in your fuel. I know several people running MS109 and they NEVER touch their screws.
