Stroker?? PV?? I'm Lost

I am ATTEMPTING to build my first stroker:bigeyes: ..I aquired a RAD 5mil stroker crank and am now having Racersedge/DASA build me a 5mil stroke 85mm flat-top cylinder to run with it..So my most important question is..(1)How relaible is a 5mil stroker, I've heard of them tearing up crank pins, positioning pins and eating up pistons/rings, bascially not being to very reliable. Any Truth to this?? Can it be avoided??? Any experienced suggestions??(2) Also I'm Very Torn with the decision of to PV or not to PV, I have NO PV experience on any engine, I only know they seem to create some killer torque on a dirt bike..Anyone here have Experience with Lamey PV cylinders, are they reliable??..Anything to look out for?? (3)And what about compression??I want to run pump gas, what should the cranking compression be??? Man I'm exhausted thinking about all this schizer not to mention I'm going to be in the poor house if I don't get this engine dialed in wright:banghead: Any Real World experience would be great..thanks

I would definately get some professional advice at a minimum, or better yet, let someone who KNOWS Strokers/Lameys/Powervalves put it together. You've already realized how much $$$ will be gone if your motor goes. Why gamble on that?

Call Paul Lehr (Jr.) or Chucky (Supertune). Both will be able to offer you extensive knowledge in your quest for BRrraaaaapppp.

Strokers are no problem, will run everyday with no problems with the proper tune, powervalve motors make the most usable horsepower (wider range/ closed course racing), but can be very fussy and need maintenance. For freeride/freestyle just a std port motor is plenty done right. If you can barely afford to build one, build a non-power valved motor, cheaper on the buget too...the other very important tip is....SPEND A LOT FOR A GOOD IGNITION TOO!

What do you call a good ignition ?

Just have paul build you a motor. I bet he has a 5mm stroker lamey ready to ship. He has those things just laying around

I have asked Groupk, and a lot of stroker owners about the reliability....in short ul hav to replace parts(crank,pistons...) evry once in a while depending on what compression ur running and how many hours ur riding....I got feedback that high compression stroker will run smoothly for 25-35hours then ul have to replace the parts for pre failure prevention....I think this is for closed course racing so anybody please correct me if im wrong!
Ps so what amount of hours can you run on a freestyle stroker which isnt running at that high rpm all the time???
Wish I was you,im only up2 bigbore.....hav fun and keep us updated please!

Do you have a web site
How much is an advent

Just call him. He likes to talk, and now that my motor is done, I don't care if you distract him. His phone message box was full earlier this week. If you can't get through to him, call Pat at XMetal. They work quite closely.
