I have a stripped out insert on my left rear pump bolt. Is there any way to "cheat" and fix (rig) this problem, or am I stuck with having to cut a section out of my foot tray to install a new insert? Have a riding trip planned in a few days and would rather not go chopping and glassing on my ski right now unless I don't have a choice. Thanks ahead of time for any tricks or info.

If it is stripped then drill and tap it to a bigger size. If it is loose then you will have to cut into the ski. It can all be done from underneath, though.

Do like Mcdog said. It's an easy fix to drill and retap those inserts. They're fairly beefy with enough material to drill and retap.

I drilled mine out and bought new stainless inserts that thread into existing inserts. I got them from mcmaster Carr.

I wondered about tapping it. Didn't know if there would be enough "meat" to do that. I like the fact that I can do it from underneath though. Thought I was going to have to have to hack up my turf.

There's plenty of "meat." Just be meticulous with keeping the drill perpindicular to the insert. I found the metric drill/tap sets at a rural Ace Hardware so they're pretty easy to come by...just make sure they have the stainless bolts your going to resize the insert to so ur not down longer looking for bolts.
