stock f/a adapters

i searched a bit and didnt really find what i was lookin for. My 38mm carbs are out getting brapjacked and will return with a filter adapter pressed in. my question is, has anyone bolted a flame arrester adapter to the bottom of the stock airbox and coupled them to the carb adapter with a silicone coupler? was it too tall? i really hate those aftermarket filters. and ive preached the stock f/a since day one. seems 2 adapters will be cheaper then 2 f/a's AND can use my stock airbox. height is my only real concern

see wamiltons sight and use 2 of the older style OEM FA's.

i already have the flame arrester. it came with my ski. i wanna know if i can make it work without being too tall. or know it works before i go buy adapters

What do they charge to mod the 38s

Art told me the brapjack mod to the 38's allows the use of a stock arrestor w/o any adapters. I think it has to be opened up a bit tho. Maybe call him to verify this. Mine are there now as well getting the same treatment. Last I asked, he charges 170 a hole and that includes jetting.

Cant see any reason to press adapters in 38's????? I would have him leave those out unless required for the mod he does???????????
If you have an aftermarket hood the OEM may be too tall already, with stock you will have a couple inches to play I believe.
