Hey guys after rebuilding my carbs over the winter, I took the octane out for a few rides. I got the watcon jetting setup installed. ( i think, please chime in with positive advice) i put in the 75 low jets and the 138 high jets. and replaced all the gaskets and viton needle. the seats were already 2.0 seats. i took the ski out for a ride and yes i can certainly feel a difference, It was recommended to me to have the low speed screws out one turn, they are. It will put hard all the way to full throttle then if i let off back down to what would be considered a idle or low rpm.. and back on the gas again, it stalls as if there's no fuel. i have to feather the throttle a bit and had to prime it once to get it to hit hard and go again. I turn out the mixture to 1-1/4-then rode and 1-1/2. same issue. What popoff springs are supposed to be run? I do not have a popoff pressure tester. but i have 3 sets of springs. The carbs already had a medium sized ( about 8-9m) shiny spring in them, The rebuild kit has a short medium and long. I don't know if this is going fix the problem but Here I ask for help. Thanks in advance -JW

below are the pics of what i have for springs from the rebuild kit. The shiny springs on the right side are what are presumably stock and came out of the carbs.

I got the kit from him before he was Watcon, and he included "kawasaki" springs. I don't know what size they were though. You could try the softer spring, wouldn't hurt anything.
Have you checked your reeds though? Reeds gave me a problem that I thought was anything but that when the corners of my V-Force reeds started cracking...

have not checked the reeds, however i had the intake off this winter and checked them and the stuffer cages. all looked ok. i guess i can check again. the stock reeds are in there. i wish i had a copy of the install instructions or a way to weigh these springs and know which one are the correct ones that randy called for. i did not have a "complete kit to start with"

Got it close. Alot better than before. The Springs were a big part of the issue. still a little rough on the low end. But hits alot harder out of a holeshot. Not night and Day....But MUCH, MUCH better than before.

Agree about the mikunis. I have heard a few guys that run the 1050 and 1200 motors assemble and MAKE a set of " Franken-Keihins " they bore the carbs out and make a annular discharge like a BlackJack Design. OR Bore a set of sudco 42s to a 43 and change the N/S all sitting ontop of bored factory Domestic intakes... Seems like alot of work.. Mikunis sound much more straight forward ontop of some hotseat or watcon intakes..
