my sn sj will only start if i give the starter a tap while pressing the start button is there a fix for this or will i need to get a new starter ?

take the starter off, strip it, and have a look - it may be just crudded up and with a clean / overhaul can be fixed - it may mean a new or rebuilt one

ok been the last 2 days fitting footholds going put that impeller u sold me on tonight looks like a job for tomorrow

took the exhaust off to get to the starter .. i could take my 650sx exhaust,manifold off in 1o mins this sj was a nightmare then when i did get the starter off and tryed to open it up the 2 bolts holding it together snapped at the threads end off

ok for any one who has this prob took it to a local expert on starters etc 2 bushings gone repaired for 20 pounds (30 dollars)
