steering cable for raider 700 question

my friend was rding my loner ski that i am trying to sell and sure enough (after telling him be easy on it cuz its for sale) on the way in he decides to tell me he can turn left. i pull it out and find the steering cable jet side the little rod looks like it pulled away from the cable i cant look up inside the boot but is that something that normally happens? can i fix it my self or am i better off getting a new one? im suppose to be getting a square nose hull that im gonna build this winter using the parts from the raider soo what do you guys think?

It sounds like you need a steering cable. I might have one hanging on the wall.

I have about 20 cables. How about seeing if there is a number on yours. If not, I could use some measurements.
