62T stators are larger diameter, try fitting into a 61x flywheel, if it will not fit in, then you know you have the 62T stator. The other way is to do a ohm resistance check, they are different ohms resistance too. (This is one of the reasons you HAVE to use a 62T staor with an Advent CDI)
You don't have to tear your motor apart.
Take off the front cover and see what shape the holes in the flywheel are.
Shouldn't take more than 10 minutes and a 10mm wrench.
The three coils, measured from the wiring harness:
Green to Green: 1.0 - 1.1 Ohms
Brown to Black (Ground): 354.4 Ohms
White/Red to Black (Ground): 14.9 Ohms
