SX/SXi/SXi Pro Stator testing Q

This is in a 96 zxi 750. Can the stator be tested without pulling the front cover? And how do I test it? Lol

disconnect the harness that goes to the stator in the top of the e box
use a good ohm meter and test the wires

set ohm meter to 1 ohm scale...with engine off, brown to brown = 0.7 - 1.1 ohm
set meter to 250VAC...with the engine running at approx 3000rpm, brown to brown voltage should be 20V

I failed to mention the motor doesn't run. Turns over fine, but lacks spark. Swapped out another working ebox from another zxi and had the same issue. The ski got sunk by a couple skanks last season. I got it running the same day, but the ebox took on a lot of water and failed this year. (didn't know that last year) So we swaped the ebox from a previously running zxi. Got it to turn over, but it doesn't have spark. Also tried swapping coils. I'll try the first ohm test tomorrow afternoon.

The purple and red should be around 411 ohms and the green ones should show continuity between them. Both of these will cause a no spark.
