starting ski in water

Hey Guys,
Have a little annoying issuei figured i would see if you guys had any ideas on. Last year, put a Factory type 9 on a 05 SJ 701. Motor is still stock. When i start it up and go to take off. It will start fine, but as soon as i hit the throttle it dies and just cranks. If i pull the choke while starting, it will start right up and im off. It runs great besides this.

Try warming the ski up on the trailer for a little while. I get mine good and warm before i put it in the water.

did you re-jet the carb(s) when you installed the pipe?

you need to richen your bottom (low speed) screws to allow for some more fuel, this is why it will run when you pull the choke.... try turning the screws out about 1/4 turn and go from there, you may need to go to a larger Pilot Jet.

No i didnt. Specs from Factory Pipe said stock jets.

This will happen after i let it warm up on the trailer, and after i stop take a break and then go to head back out.

Dont the stock carbs have block-offs for the screws?
