I was doing nose stabs and small subs today and wiped out. Went to restart the ski and the starter kept chugging. Pulled lanyard, hit stop and it just kept chugging.
Finally a buddy of mine put the lanyard back on, hit the start button and it quit.:ugh2:
I let the starter cool for about 10 minutes and then it worked fine again after that.
WTH do I check now that it back in the garage?
Pull apart start/stop switch and wd-40?:fing02:
Anything else . . . . .
Thanks!

The start switch is completely serviceable. Take it apart by screwing off the cap and cleaning the contacts with some synthetic steel wool or a scotch brite type pad. Just shine them up enough to remove the black oxidation residue. Do not use petroleum solvents or WD40. Get it clean and dry and inspect the rubber seals. If the seals are cracked or broken then call John at JSS, he can rebuild the whole cluster of switches and get it better than new for less than buying a new setup..
