Meh, too far to drive. Surf is marginal at best, the locals are all a bit funny and the sharks are underfed. :sneaky:

St. Augustine has great surf.
The topography is different because it seems to always have better form than Jacksonville, given equal swell charactersitics/conditions.
I have a few buddies that will choose 2ft St. Augustine over 4ft Jax...simply b/c of the wave quality. Seems to barrel a lot more IMO.

For jet skiing in this area, it's very tough to edge out Huguenot in my opinion. You might want to check out Villano's as well. It's south of Jax beach/Ponte Vedra beach but just north of St. Augustine.
and you guys know this but there are sharks everywhere...I mean everywhere...
When I was flying, we would cruise the coast all the time. It never ceased to amaze me at the amount of marine life out there.
Hopefully I can get my ski done if a few months to join you guys
