Pics please?

First clean ALL your grounds in the electrical box. Check the wire tips, cut if needed. New plugs would help.

When i bought my SJ it had water in the electrical box, They dont like that.

Can't tell what year it is, but looks like she's bone stock. (last 2 numbers on the HIN is the model year)

Need a new rideplate, ~$20 (get a stocker)
Check the pump, make sure it's alright

As long as it's just electrical, you got a good deal... if it's a 701 and the engine is good, a much better deal.

Does it not crank at all, or does crank and not start? Check for spark when you crank it by pulling a plug and grounding on the head somewhere. If you're not getting a spark I always disconnect the kill switch first. You can do that by unplugging the black and white wires coming out of your electrical box. They're on a plug all by themself. If they're shorted out it will kill the spark to the plugs.

its a 650.. by the color (if stock) i would say a 1993..
sounds like your start/stop switch is acting up.. undo the 2 screws that hold it to the bars and take a good look... you can figure out how to take the rest apart and clean the contacts.. (unscrew the plastic buttons.. clean the copper plate, dont loose the spring)

sorry I forgot to mention its a 1990 650.

Will try to by-pass the start stop switch this afternoon.

I will also carge up the battery and maybe get a new one.(any preferenameces on baqtteries?)

She came with a second ride plate, so Ill stick that on tonight.

Oh yeah, when the problem is there ( 2 of the tries) there is NOTHING. No click, no turning over just the sound of me pushing the little green button on my new boat.

Definitely the start stop switch then.

If the springs in your start stop switch have rusted and look bad, let me know I have some new ones I can send you.
I have seen many switchs that have had the springs rust away on them.

Let me know

Mick
