I'm from the North and one of the great things about Daytona is that it is IN January. I've been there twice, 2015 and 2018.

The problem with January lately is the high tide. Daytona has lost 4 ft of sand in the last few years with the hurricanes. High tide has the water hitting the seawall, so they don't let anyone drive onto the beach until the tide goes out.
