So i did end up getting one with a 701 and big pipe with much to do its my sponsor ski for the shop i work at in corona called corona Motor worx My buddy's hookin me up getting it all freestyle/freeride ready for me to go out and practice practice practice so i can hopefully compete. but ive got the hull at my glass shop called performance fiberglass in la habra CA who do amazing work. i have never really worked around a Square nose hull so idk what is vulnerable on those skis anything specific to reinforce?
thanks alot

i reinforced my jet down both sides and under the handle pole bracket some people go as far as reinforcing the insides at the rear when fitting foot holds and then the tray it really depends on were (lake or sea) and how you ride

Reinforce under the handlepole mount area and then top to bottom down both sides from the nose to the very back. You'll have to do the tray area when you have the footholds out, but it's fairly important if you plan on beating it up attempting to learn any aerial maneuver. It's easier to defoam and reinforce now rather than later when you'll have to take out the footholds you just installed.

alright thank you every body except i went to my fiberglass shop and they said that the top deck is plastic what has everybody else done or used to renforce it without the material cracking from being stiff against a flexing plastic base
thanks

this will go to the surf a little more than flat water but it will be rolling thats for sure

find another shop.

regular epoxy resin sticks to the top half of the hull very well.
Not sure what their concern is, seriously though, a shop with more experience in pwc ( even better stand ups) might save you some headaches later on.

the whole ski is plastic. The fuel door cover is some type of plastic (not sure what?) but the topdeck is metton and the bottom is SMC. When reinforcing the sides, sand ALL the white off down to the metton, which is black, and lightly transparent when you put a light behind it. The SMC is ready for glass with just a little sanding. Sand all areas with 40 or so grit for good adhesion, make sure you get to the metton!

Fiberglass is more then flexible enough to handle the flexing plastic body.

If you wanna reinforce for the surf, do the sides with 17 oz matback, one layer should be fine, go from the lip all the way to the bottom. Most people grind the ribs off, however I just did a repair and instead of removing that strength adding piece, I filleted them and glassed right on top of em.

Handle pole area, just layer that up, same glass (17 oz matback). Some people put a layer on the bottom as well, I did to be safe. Also the back area in the tray, its hard to do through the foothold holes, but an added security. Thats it, except for the hood, but thats been covered many times over. Nose can be reinforced, mike serlin style, filled it with foam and glass on top. I've also heard to wet out carbon, and roll it hotdog style, and stick that in the lip, and put carbon on top of that, so it doesnt crush if you hit the bottom.

A layer of 17 oz matback on the sides and bottom etc. should be good enough for the surf, am I right? (second opinions)

the entire top deck of the 90-93 SN's is metton which is basically plastic, make sure that gets re-enforced extra and also re-eforce the tray a-lot too. If you land hard enough you will blow your feet right through the tray, it is a common problem with the older hulls. I would recommend to you de-foaming it. Those older hulls were foamed seperatley, in other words while the top deck and the hull were apart at the factory they would foam them seperately and them put them together and there would be a gap between the foam a lot of times which makes it weak, if you de-foam it you will seewhat I mean. Another reason it's good to re-foam it is so you can re-enforce the inside of the gunnells, make sure you fill the bondlines all around while it's de-foamed becuase thats where a lot of water comes in on them, and re-foam it with some 4lb or 8lb density foam which is a lot more structural than 2lb or the stock foam in the ski and you will keep just about the same flotation as the stock foam.

Yep just use epoxy resin it sticks to pretty much everything fiberglass, Sheet molded compound and fiberglass reinforced plastic, all of which your square contains . I used a layer of 12oz biax then 4.5 oz plain weave carbon on the sides then a layer of 12oz biax on the bottom. I also reinforced under the handlepole area. Their are alot of good build threads on this.
